Upcoming Events

November 15-16:  Meters for those properties where residents do not stay at QLW full-time will be turned off for the winter. If you do NOT wish to have you water turned off, you will need to submit a written request. If your water is turned off for the winter, you have one complimentary turn on/off for the winter. Any additional requests will be assessed a fee. Please see the fee schedule under the Resources Page.

Board Meetings: The QLWA Monthly Board Meetings have recessed for the winter. The office remains open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, each week, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. We will be closed for Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you have an urgent need, please refer to the Chain of Command on the Resources Page.

Quarterly Meter Reading:   The next quarterly billing and meter reads will occur the first week of January. If you have not yet paid your bill for the third quarter, please make those payments now. Late fees are assessed 60 days following the due date on your bill. If you have not yet received your bill, please contact the office immediately.

Annual Meeting: Thank you to all who took the time to attend the annual membership meeting on August 31, 2024. We continue to have consistent turn-over of properties in the community. If you see someone new, take a moment to introduce yourself and welcome them here.

Repairs: Mid-November we had a watermain break at the entrance to QLE and at the same time a leak in the S-curve. We are so blessed to have received notification from residents at QLE. The mainline leak was a substantial leak. We immediately turned off the wells and assessed the direction of the leak's flow. Fred Black, circuit rider from NMRWA, arrived the next day, as did a large backhoe from Log, Stick, and Steel. Because the mainlines are so deep a very large area had to be dug. Once the pipes were exposed, our team, Steve Stoops, Eddie Jacques, Fred Black and George King were able to identify the source of the leak, and the repairs were completed. On to the S-Curve where additional digging and repairs took place. Unfortunately, we had to isolate the water leak by turning off water toward the entrance of the community. This left some customers without water for a few hours. Thankfully we were able to get their water back on before the end of the day. The S-Curve began leaking again in another location just before Christmas. Again, Steve Stoops and Eddie Jacques were able to get the are dug and place a temporary repair on site. Thankfully, those residents below the S-curve were once again without water for a few hours. When we go back to make permanent repairs, we will notify those residents prior to starting work.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we continue to make repairs as needed.

WELL #2 REPAIRS

The photos of the repair never reflect the volume of work required by all those helping to create such a quick and efficient turn-around. Thank you ALL!

QLWA Meter System

We continue to be incredibly grateful for the "drive-by" meter system. It continues to assist in identifying customer leaks, or what we call "potential leaks". It has a warning code that tells us when water has been running for over an hour, non-stop, and calls it a "BURST". It doesn't mean a water line has burst; it means someone has run water for an extended period of time. The system is able to let us know when and for how long, if we check directly at the unit. We have also been able to determine that we consistently have a significant water loss every winter/early Spring. This water loss is not associated with system leaks or customer leaks. The board is considering placing locks on all boxes to prevent unauthorized water use within the system.

New Booster Skid

Installed July 25, 2023

The new Booster Skid was successfully installed on July 25, 2023. We continue to make minor adjustments to settings within the system as it learns the community's usage patterns. Come back soon to see pictures of the new skid!

QLWA had an amazing team for installation! Additionally, we had our Circuit Rider from NMRWA, Fred Black, AND, our own Steve Stoops, on site to help!
